Big Bend National Park in Far West Texas is a Dark Sky park. It is an incredible place to star gaze. There are many reasons why I drive 10 hours from Dallas to it every other year, and star gazing is a big reason. At the cabins where I stay at Terlingua Ranch, they ask you to turn off the porch lights pretty early at night so as not to obscure the skies—and that place is really remote.
