Crystal, this was profoundly moving on so many levels. I, too, went through the Texas ice storm in Dallas. My experience was not nearly harrowing as yours, but it got down to 39 degrees in the house at one point.

I see homeless people every day here. As you said in your narrative, everyone needs a place of refuge. It is heartbreaking.
